Description
AHK-Cu (Alanyl-Histidyl-Lysine Copper Complex)
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: For laboratory research use only. Not for human consumption, clinical treatment, injection or cosmetic application. All data is for experimental reference merely.
1. Basic Overview
It is a structural analog of the well-known GHK-Cu. Alanine replaces glycine at the N-terminal position, which alters lipophilicity and cellular binding affinity. In vitro research shows AHK-Cu exhibits stronger selectivity toward dermal papilla cells, making it widely studied in hair regeneration, skin remodeling and wound healing research.
Molecular Formula: C₁₄H₂₂CuN₆O₄
CAS: 767286-83-9
2. Mechanism of Action
- Stimulate proliferation of dermal papilla cells (DPCs), inhibit DPC apoptosis, extend hair follicle anagen (growth) phase.
- Upregulate VEGF and SCF expression, boost microvascular angiogenesis around follicles to improve nutrient supply.
- Promote fibroblast activity and Type I collagen synthesis, support dermis reconstruction and anti-fibrosis research.
- Deliver bioavailable copper ions as essential enzyme cofactor; moderate oxidative stress and relieve local inflammation.
- Activate Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway critical for follicle regeneration.
3. Primary Observed Research Effects
- Activate dormant hair follicles, counteract follicle miniaturization
- Improve hair density and hair shaft thickness in preclinical models
- Accelerate skin tissue repair and wound closure
- Boost collagen synthesis, investigate anti-aging skin remodeling
- Reduce inflammatory response in epidermal tissue models
4. Reconstitution Instructions (Lyophilized Powder)
- Let the peptide vial warm to room temperature first. Sterilize rubber stopper with alcohol wipe.
- Slowly inject Bacteriostatic Water (BAC water) along the inner wall of the vial, avoid direct impact on lyophilized powder.
Recommended concentration: Mix 10mg powder with 2mL BAC water → 5mg/mL working solution.
- Gently swirl/roll the vial to dissolve powder. DO NOT shake violently to prevent peptide denaturation. Fully dissolved solution displays characteristic light blue color.
- Storage Rules
- Unreconstituted lyophilized powder: Store at -20°C, sealed and protected from light. Shelf life up to 24 months.
- Reconstituted solution: Refrigerate 2–8°C, stable within 28 days. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and light exposure.
5. Research Administration Protocols
Option 1: Subcutaneous Injection (Localized Research)
- Reference Dosage: 100 mcg – 300 mcg per injection
- Frequency: 3–5 times weekly
- Injection Site: Abdominal subcutaneous tissue or target scalp region
- Cycle Reference: 8–12 weeks experimental cycle, followed by equal rest period
Option 2: Topical Application (Dermatology & Hair Research)
- Working concentration range: 0.1 mg/mL ~ 2 mg/mL
- Application: Apply evenly to target tissue area, once or twice daily for experimental observation
Note: Topical penetration is weaker than local injection in research comparisons.
6. Precautions
- Purely laboratory research reagent. Not approved for human medical use.
- Copper peptide is sensitive to oxidation. Avoid long-term exposure under light.
- Strict sterile operation required during reconstitution to prevent contamination.
- Cease experiment immediately if precipitation, turbidity or abnormal irritation occurs.
